More insurance changes are in store from the Legislature

Florida lawmakers unanimously passed two bills after approving two rounds of property insurance reforms last year. The measures would expand state insurance regulators’ authority to review claims handling and punish bad actors. Another bill approved by both chambers would restrict foreign principals from China and six other foreign countries of concern from buying property within 10 miles of military installations or critical infrastructure.
